The trip

Land in Bologna, chase the Italian summer west, fly home from Milan.

Between the 22nd and 27th of June 2026, the north of Italy is at full tilt: open-air cinema and techno in Bologna, midsummer fires on the Ligurian coast, wine festivals in the Langhe, Pride and stadium nights in Milan, opera in a Roman arena and spritz on the shores of Lake Garda. This is everything worth catching — sorted region by region, with the dates and weekdays worked out so nothing clashes.

LGBTQ-friendly and poly-friendly, open to all adults under 35 (a participant's regular partner is welcome even if over 35). From 20:30 at the Maglio Rock House (Via Vittorio Andreis 18/16) — find the group outside or ask for the 'TNG table'; drinks à la carte and food off the venue menu. It's strictly a meetup, not a play party: no play of any kind is allowed, it's non-profit with no economic interest, and privacy is sacred — no photos without explicit consent.

TK Lab — guided Shibari practice

    Turin · FunLab Torino

TK LAB is FunLab Torino's hands-on Shibari/Kinbaku rope workshop, run two Fridays a month and centred on the TK (Takate Kote — the takate-kote box tie) and its variants: refining the practice, structure handling and positioning. Expect practical sessions on targeted or participant-requested ties, step-by-step technical support, and deep-dives on safety, body management and flow, in an inclusive space pitched at every level — Shibari (縛り) / Kinbaku (緊縛) being the Japanese art of erotic rope bondage, descended from hojōjutsu and practised today for BDSM, art, relaxation or shared emotion, with courses pairing a safety-theory part and a practical part on knots and ties. Runs 21:00–23:45 with mandatory booking; 18+ only, strict privacy (no photos or video, no participant list), comfortable clothing recommended (t-shirt + leggings ideal) — the school provides all materials (you may bring your own), and there's no nudity or sexual practice during lessons.

Monterosa Bike — lift-served MTB (Gressoney & Champoluc)

Gressoney-La-Trinité (AO) · Monterosa Ski lifts (Staffal · Champoluc · Frachey)

Right on the doorstep of the Monte Rosa base: in summer the Monterosa ski lifts become a bike uplift, carrying your MTB from Staffal, Champoluc and Frachey up to the Colle Bettaforca (2727 m), Passo dei Salati (2971 m) and Punta Jolanda, where a demanding downhill drops back to the valley. Over 100 km of linked cycle and alpine trails across three valleys, all bikes carried free on the lifts. Lifts run from 30 May 2026 (some weekends-only in June, daily from ~20 Jun), so it's the easiest gravity day without even driving down the valley.

  • Torgnon (AO)
    Bike & MTBMon 22 – Sat 27 Jun

Torgnon Family Bike — easy downhill

Torgnon (AO) · Collet chairlift → Chantorné

A gentler gravity hit on the way down toward Aosta: the Collet chairlift (bike hooks fitted) lifts you to 2250 m and the 4.5 km 'Family Bike' easy-downhill flows back to the Chantorné basin at 1850 m, with the Matterhorn in view. Add 16 km of the Tour des Alpages and 50+ km of natural trails, plus loaner e-bikes and guides. Not a hardcore DH park — it's the flow/family end of the spectrum, summer chairlift dates worth confirming at the tourist office.

  • Breuil-Cervinia (AO)
    Bike & MTBMon 22 – Sat 27 Jun

    Breuil-Cervinia — Matterhorn Bike Park

Breuil-Cervinia (AO) · Cervino Ski Paradise — Plan Maison / Cime Bianche

Gravity riding under the Matterhorn: 100+ km of downhill and natural-enduro trails built by the Cervino bike patrol, climbing on the lifts to Plan Maison and Cime Bianche Laghi (2861 m) for descents of up to ~1500 m. The renewed 'Rock & Wood' North Shore trail — 30% wooden walkways, a 16.6% average gradient — is the signature challenge, and there's a dedicated high-altitude e-bike trail along the Cime Bianche lake. Full bike-park opening is 27 June 2026, so it's only live on the trip's last day (partial trails 20–21 Jun).

  • Courmayeur (AO)
    Bike & MTBMon 22 – Sat 27 Jun

    Courmayeur Mont Blanc Bike Area

Courmayeur (AO) · Plan Chécrouit / Val Veny (Dolonne cabin lift)

Two-wheel descents at the foot of Mont Blanc, an hour west beyond Aosta: flow trails and a red 'Ottoz' easy-downhill on the Chécrouit side, a 'Mont Blanc' flow trail on Val Veny, plus enduro and e-bike loops, reached by the Dolonne cabin lift, Val Veny cable car and Zerotta chairlift (with an electric shuttle linking the two sides). Smaller and more scenic than Pila, but the panorama is unbeatable. Summer bike area opens 27 June 2026 (so the trip's last day), with lift-replacement works on the Maison Vielle/Chécrouit cabins ongoing in 2026.

  • La Thuile (AO)
    Bike & MTBMon 22 – Sat 27 Jun

La Thuile Bike Park (Espace San Bernardo)

La Thuile (AO) · Bosco Express / Chalet Express chairlifts

The Aosta Valley's heavyweight gravity destination on the wild side of Mont Blanc: 170 km of trails dropping from 2,600 m to 1,400 m (1,200 m vertical), 13 dedicated gravity trails, a dual slalom and pump track, served by the Bosco Express and Chalet Express chairlifts and even cross-border to La Rosière in France. A regular Enduro World Series / World Cup venue. Important: the 2026 bike-park season opens 6 July (with the UCI DH & Enduro World Cup 3–5 July), so it is NOT operating during a 22–27 June trip — include as a 'next time / aspirational' pin.

More than a rental: this Gressoney-Saint-Jean agency hires out muscular and electric mountain bikes and, crucially, has qualified MTB instructors who run summer courses and guided rides for adults and kids — ideal if you want someone to show you the Monte Rosa trails and uplift routes rather than figure them out solo.

On Saturday the 27th, two cities march at once.

Milan throws Italy's biggest Pride — a week of free stages at Porta Venezia building to a 350,000-strong parade — while two hours east, Verona's Tumulto Pride takes the same day as an act of defiance through one of the country's most conservative cities.
